Junior Creative Writing major at Missouri State University (minoring in Advertising and Promotion)
Experience
I am a previous Education major. I took three years of Early Childhood Education courses (one semester of that being focused primarily Elementary Ed). I had three practicums in that time, two in child development centers and one in a first grade classroom. For a semester after that, I was majoring in Secondary Education with a focus in English. I did a practicum at that time in an eighth grade English classroom. I have also taught tennis for the past two summers to kids ages 6-14 and worked a preschool summer camp for five summers, working primarily with the two year old children but generally with up to age 6. Although I have switched my major (again) since then to Creative Writing, I have not lost my passion for working with children and young adults. I would love to share my excitement for English. In high school, I was on the Honor Roll all four years; in college, I have been on the Dean's List for the past four semesters. I also completed a child-abuse workshop called "Protecting God's Children" in St. Louis and am a member of Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society and Missouri State's Marketing Club.

Hobbies
In my free time, I enjoy playing tennis, writing, and reading primarily. Spending time with my family and friends is something I hold very dear and I make an effort to put them first.
